Privacy Policy

Your video never leaves your computer. We don't upload your footage, we don't store it, we don't process it on our servers.

The only thing that leaves your machine is the text transcript of what was said — and only when you're using our hosted AI (Credits plan). If you use BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys), even the transcript goes directly from your device to OpenAI or Anthropic — not through us at all.

We are not in the footage business. We are not in the surveillance business. The privacy model is the product.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address to create your account and communicate with you about your subscription, product updates, and support requests.

Usage data. We collect anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand how the product is used — things like which features are used most, how long processing takes, and crash reports. This data cannot be tied back to you personally, and it never includes your content.

API keys (BYOK users). If you use BYOK, your API key is stored in your operating system's native keychain (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or Linux Secret Service). It is never transmitted to our servers. We cannot see it, access it, or revoke it.

Payment information. If you purchase credits, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider (Stripe). We receive a confirmation and your billing email — not your card details.

We do not collect, store, or process:

- Your video footage (ever)
- Your audio recordings
- Your face, appearance, or biometric data
- Your outtakes, bloopers, or unposted content
- Your transcript if you use BYOK (that goes directly to your chosen AI provider)

This is not a terms-of-service loophole. Your footage physically never reaches our infrastructure.

AAKlipper extracts the audio track from your video locally on your computer. It then generates a text transcript of what was said.

BYOK plan: The transcript is sent directly from your device to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, etc.) under your own API credentials. It does not pass through AAKlipper servers.

Credits plan: The transcript is sent to our servers where it is processed by AI to find clips, analyze hooks, score virality, and generate ideas. It is not stored after processing is complete. We do not retain transcripts.

In both cases: your video file is never uploaded, transmitted, or accessed outside your device.

Account data (email, subscription status) is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.

Transcripts (Credits plan) are deleted immediately after processing. We do not retain them.

Usage analytics are aggregated and anonymized. They cannot be linked to individual accounts and are not deleted on a per-user basis.

AAKlipper integrates with third-party services in limited ways:

- Stripe — payment processing for credits purchases
- Your AI provider (BYOK) — OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, or others. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
- Analytics — anonymous, aggregated product analytics only

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not share your email with advertisers.

You have the right to:

- Access the data we hold about you
- Delete your account and associated data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Export your account data
- Opt out of non-essential communications

AAKlipper is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the date below. Continued use of AAKlipper after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
